Sens Lose 4-1

I hate to say it but the 2010-11 Senators are going to look back at this game and cringe.

After playing a decent 1st period and getting a little luck on their side, the Sens went into the 2nd looking like they would come out victorious.

The Senators took 4 straight penalties, which turned out to be 1 too many, and lost all the momentum they had after the first.  Tom Gilbert scored mere seconds after Daniel Alfredsson was stopped on a shorthanded breakaway and the Oilers ran away with it from there.

The Oil came out flying, using their speed to beat the Senators to the puck and separate themselves down the wing.  Cogliano, Brule & Hall all scored in the 3rd and that was all she wrote.  The Sens lose a tough one against a team they should have beaten and have now put themselves in a hole many people feel they can not get out of.

Here’s Gerber, Hall, Alfredsson & Elliott on Gerber’s save on Alfredsson and how it changed the entire game.
