Sens Lose 6-5 to Avs in OT

Check out the highlights

This game was crazy!

Right from the start it was full of surprises as Brian Elliott was in net due to Pascal Leclaire pulling out with a lower body injury he sustained in warmup.  Then….CHAOS!

The Sens and the Avs traded leads all game.  Both teams scored on 5 on 3 powerplays, both teams held a lead, both teams couldn’t play defence.  But it was the Sens who would fold in overtime as Matt Duchene sped down the ice and beat Elliott from the lower circle.  It was Duchene’s 2nd goal of the game and cemented the Avs fifth straight win, its 4th straight over the Senators.

While fans probably can’t see the upside right now, the Sens grab 3 of a possible 4 points on a challenging road trip that sent them through 2 different time zones on back-to-back nights.  The Sens return to Scotiabank Place and take on the struggling, HBO-followed Washington Capitals on Sunday night.
