Sens Lose 4-3 to Blue Jackets in OT

Check out the highlights

Talk about a carbon copy of the game vs the Thrashers.  The Sens fell behind 3-0 to the Blue Jackets with half a game to go and all looked lost.  Then, a snap shot by Mike Fisher sparked the offence and the Sens took off.  Third period goals by Nick Foligno and Daniel Alfredsson evened things up and while guaranteeing a point on the road is usually considered a success, getting that extra point in OT was that much more crucial.

Unfortunately, it would not happen, as a funny bounce around the boards resulted in the puck jumping over Alex Kovalev’s stick and onto Jakub Voracek’s, leaving him alone in front and able to shoot the puck through Brian Elliott to give the Jackets the 4-3 win.

The Senators showed character, coming back from 3 goals down and fighting to the bitter end of this game, just coming up short.  It was, however, another case of “too little, too late,” as the team put themselves in the awkward position and had to claw and scrape just to get the one point.

The Sens get the Leafs next at home in a game they MUST win.  The effort level will need to be there for the entire 60 minutes.
