Senators vs Flyers PreGame

The Sens had a preskate at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia this morning.  Afterwards, Cory Clouston announced that there would be no lineup changes and that Brian Elliott would get the start.  This means that the Sens will once again go with 7 defencemen, with Peter Regin sitting out his 2nd straight game.  Hard to argue as the Sens effort against the Ducks was probably their best in 2 months.

After playing only 5:04 against the Ducks, enforcer Matt Carkner will continue to be used as an energy provider.  Yes, that means he’s probably going to fight early in the game to get his boys jacked up.  If I had to bet on his opponent, I’d place money on Jody Shelley.  Of course, he may want to get his hands on Daniel Carcillo or Chris Pronger, but I doubt the Flyers would allow that (especially since its Pronger’s first contest after missing 13 games with a broken foot).  Carkner’s on a roll, should be a fun first period.

Here’s a video of the Top 5 fights featuring Matt Carkner.
