Sens Practice Jan 24

Another eventful Senators practice on Monday morning.  Jason Spezza and Pascal Leclaire were on the ice prior to the start, working with coaches and putting themselves through exercises.  Once the rest of the players stepped on the ice, Leclaire would leave but Spezza stayed on, wearing a powder blue non-contact jersey.  Spezza would participate in all of the non-contact drills and yuck it up with brother Matt as he was manning one of the nets for the Sens.  Bobby Butler was also back up with the team, having been recalled late last night.

Afterwards, GM Bryan Murray and coach Cory Clouston met with the media.  Obviously, most of the questions were aimed at the 2 articles that were published yesterday on the team’s direction.  Here are the most notable quotes from both.

Clouston also updated the following players.  Jarkko Ruutu has a lower body injury and will be out a couple of weeks.  Pascal Leclaire is exercising on the ice and they are hoping he will be ready soon after the break.  Jason Spezza is ahead of schedule and best case scenario, he will be able to play right after the All-Star break.  Here’s Jason Spezza on returning to the ice and how he feels watching his team struggle.
