Sens Lose 5-3 to Islanders

Check out the highlights

Well, this contest started out pretty crazy.  Both the Islanders and Senators scored 3 goals apiece in the first period, with both teams scoring a goal 20 seconds or less after the other to even up the game.   Alex Kovalev scored a goal for the third straight game, while Mike Fisher and Chris Neil added the other 2 for the Senators.

The second started with a goaltender change for the Senators.  After making 10 saves on 13 shots, Brian Elliott was pulled in favour of Robin Lehner.  Lehner and Islanders goaltender Kevin Poulin wouldn’t allow a goal in the frame and the game was still tied at 3.  Only problem was that Chris Phillips and Robin Lehner would draw interference and elbowing penalties at the end of the period so the Sens would start the third down 2 men.

1:39 into the third, Rob Schremp would make them pay, scoring his 9th of the season on the PP and giving the Islanders a lead they would never relinquish.  Frans Nielsen added an empty netter and the Islanders would win the game 5-3.
