D.I.F.D. Youth Mental Health Awareness Night Feb 26

On Saturday, February 26th, the Ottawa Senators & Sens Foundation will host the first D.I.F.D. Youth Mental Health Awareness night.  The hope is that this dedicated evening will inspire family conversations and erase the negative stigma that surrounds mental health and suicide.

Players from both the Senators and Flyers will have D.I.F.D logos on their helmets, while coaches & management will wear purple ties to show their support for the initiative.

There will be plenty of opportunity for the public to show their support through the purchase of D.I.F.D. merchandise and/or making a donation to the Sens Foundation.

On Thursday, Feb 24th, Luke Richardson sat down with Dr. Raj Bhatla, chief of psychiatry of the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group, to discuss the loss of his daughter and youth mental health.  Here are his comments on dealing with the tragedy and on creating discussion about such a feared subject matter.
