Senators Lose 2-1 to Capitals

Check out the highlights

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch the game as I was out of the Ottawa region.  From what I’ve read, the Senators were able to get shots on net (outshooting the Caps 34-26) but just couldn’t beat Tomas Vokoun (other than Peter Regin’s late first period goal), especially in the final 2 periods.  While 2-1 is much better than 7-1, the team once again fell behind and were unable to climb all the way back.  We’ve heard since the opening of training camp that this team is going to struggle to score goals and while the squad was able to generate some offence over the first 3 games, the past 2 have been prime examples of what the “experts” were talking about.  It ain’t going to get any easier, the Flyers are up next.
