PreGame: Maple Leafs vs Senators Oct 30

Despite it being an optional skate for the Senators this morning, almost everybody took the ice at Scotiabank Place.  Newly re-called Nikita Filatov, as well as Matt Carkner, took part.  To no one’s surprise, Daniel Alfredsson was absent and was not available to the media. Coach MacLean would later reveal that Alfredsson is still being evaluated and that Bobby Butler would be taking his spot in the lineup.  Coach also said that Robin Lehner would be making the start in goal and that Filatov would not play despite being brought up (speculation is his recall was in case a suspension was given to Konopka).

Here’s Jason Spezza on the loss of the captain, the team’s efforts as of late and the rivalry with the Maple Leafs.
