Senators Lose 3-2 to Stars

Check out the highlights

Not exactly a barn burner at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.  After Erik Condra & Steve Ott scored before the 10 minute mark of the first period, both teams hunkered down and played some defence.  It wasn’t until the third period that either team was able to score on the other.  First, Milan Michalek gloved a rebound off Andrew Raycroft’s blocker down to his stick and quickly shot the puck by the stunned goaltender to give the Senators the lead.  But shortly thereafter, Mike Ribeiro found Radek Dvorak by the side of the net with a sweet pass to even the score at 2.  Just over 3 minutes later, Eric Nystrom would win it for the Stars as he beat Erik Karlsson with a slick move behind the Senators’ net, came out in front and shot one by Craig Anderson that made it 3-2.  A tough loss for this Senator team seeing they had the lead with just over 5 minutes left.

The Senators next travel to Washington for their final game of the road trip before returning home to face Tampa Bay Monday night.

In other team news, the Senators sent Matt Carkner to Binghamton on a conditioning assignment on Thursday.  Carkner has yet to play a game this season after having surgery on his right knee in September.
