PreGame: Bruins vs Senators Dec 14

The Senators held an optional preskate at Scotiabank Place this morning.  Beforehand, Filip Kuba & Sergei Gonchar skated with coach Luke Richardson.  Kuba would then stay on with the group that practiced and looked close to a return.  At his media availability, coach Paul MacLean revealed Craig Anderson as his starter and announced that Milan Michalek does have concussion symptoms after last night’s collision with teammate Erik Karlsson.  The team will now follow NHL protocol before he makes his return.

Here’s Paul MacLean commenting on Michalek’s status, what he thought when he saw the hit, what the team will miss without Michalek in the lineup and whether he feels this will ruin Michalek’s season.

As for the Bruins, Zdeno Chara skated for the first time since he suffered his left knee injury last Saturday.  Chara said that he would most likely not play, but that technically he was a “game-time decision.  Tim Thomas is expected to start for the Bruins.
