PreGame: Senators vs Bruins Feb 28

The Senators took their pregame skate at the TD Garden in Boston this morning.  Afterwards, Coach MacLean revealed a couple of changes to tonight’s lineup.  Matt Gilroy will make his Senator debut on defence, while Zenon Konopka enters the lineup in place of Kaspars Daugavins.  Robin Lehner will man the pipes for the 2nd consecutive game.

Matt Gilroy, who is expected to be paired with Chris Phillips tonight, will continue to wear #97 as a member of the Ottawa Senators.  Gilroy wears the number in memory of his younger brother, Timmy, who died in August 1993 after suffering brain injuries in a bicycle fall.

As for the Bruins, Brian Rolston, Mike Mottau & Shawn Thornton will all be in the Boston lineup this evening.  Newly acquired Greg Zanon made it to Boston, but will not play.  Tim Thomas is expected to get the start in net.

Also, a day after saying he wanted to fight Kyle Turris, Joe Corvo retracted his comments, saying he suffered “foot in mouth” disease and that he was “selfish.”  Nevertheless, there is no doubt that the league will be keeping a close eye on this one.
