Murray considering AHL deal for Bishop – During media availability on Thursday morning, Sens GM Bryan Murray says Ottawa is considering signing Ben Bishop to an AHL deal so that he can play competitive hockey.  However, a final decision will be not be made right away.  Bishop is eligible to sign an AHL deal because he was on the Senators’ clear day roster.

Update: Bishop has been signed and is on Binghamton’s roster.

Karlsson signs with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League – Erik Karlsson signed a month-to-month contract with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League on Wednesday September 26th. The 22 year old defenceman decided to play with the Finnish club partially due to his friendship with former Senator Jarkko Ruutu and  will leave for Finland on Friday.   Karlsson’s new contract terminates automatically when the NHL work stoppage ends and all insurance costs will be covered by Jokerit.
