Senators Practice Jan 22

The Senators held practice at the Bell Sensplex this afternoon.  Daniel Alfredsson & Jason Spezza did not participate due to what Paul MacLean deemed as a “rest day” for the two of them. Peter Regin moved up to a top 6 position, but wasn’t able to enjoy it for long as the session only lasted approximately 30 minutes.

But, as everyone in the capital knows, all talk was still about the doppelganger that sat directly behind Coach Paul MacLean last night during the game.  Here’s MacLean’s comments when asked about it this afternoon.

Coach MacLean also commented on the current goaltending situation and how it sitting on the bench was not good for either young goaltender.

UPDATE: The Senators have re-assigned goaltender Robin Lehner to Binghamton of the AHL.  I’m guessing Craig Anderson’s play has dictated this move.  It won’t be the last time we see Lehner this season, but he needs to get regular playing time.  Ben Bishop will likely see a start sometime within the next 3 games.

Meanwhile, fresh off his 2-goal performance, Kyle Turris spoke with CP’s Lisa Wallace about his hot start, staying in Ottawa over the summer and redeeming himself after the trade.  These are just 3 answers of a rather extensive interview and I encourage all that read this to search for her article once its completed.  It will be excellent.
