Senators Lose 2-1 (OT) to Bruins

It took a team that has only lost twice in regulation, but the Ottawa Senators 5-game winning streak came to an end Thursday night.

In what many would call an ugly game, the Bruins & Senators were destined for extra time as neither team could get any sort of flow going all night.  Endless turnovers, poor execution and broken plays littered the ice all evening.

The goals scored by Nathan Horton & Jim O’Brien were indicative of the type of game that was being played as both were a result of scrambles in front.  Even the game-winner in overtime by Patrice Bergeron was off a tip that barely slid across the goal line.

Robin Lehner was by far the best player on the ice, making 44 saves in his 1st start in the NHL this season.

The Senators next game is Saturday afternoon against the Philadelphia Flyers.
