The Senators hit the ice for practice Friday afternoon at Scotiabank Place.  The only person missing from action was Sergei Gonchar, who sustained an injury during last night’s game against the Boston Bruins.  Marc Methot skated for the second straight day after injuring his knee against the New York Islanders.

The session came to an end rather abruptly as the group met at centre ice and then filed out one by one.  Here is Coach MacLean on why that happened and if the club has trouble with afternoon starts.

Afterwards, Coach MacLean updated Gonchar’s status, saying that he has had some improvement since last night and is a game-time decision for tomorrow.  He also indicated that he would indeed put Marc Methot back into the lineup against the Lightning.

Finally, MacLean revealed that Robin Lehner would be tomorrow’s starting goaltender.

Marc Methot updates his status and talks about the injury he sustained against the Islanders.
