Senators Win 4-1 Over Canadiens

All the talk before the game was about Eric Gryba, Lars Eller and last year’s playoff series.  After the game, it was about Robin Lehner.

The 22 year old Swede made 33 saves, including several in close.  He was particularly effective on the penalty kill, styming the Habs on their long point shots and slick puck movement.  Lehner improved his save percentage to .947, 2nd in the NHL behind Minnesota’s Josh Harding.

The line of Kyle Turris, Bobby Ryan & Clarke MacArthur recorded 6 points in total, with Turris extending his point streak to 6 games and Ryan to 5.  Despite playing an effective 24:28, Erik Karlsson’s point streak ended at 5 games.

The Senators get the Florida Panthers next on Saturday afternoon.  They will have a new coaching staff as Kevin Dineen and his assistants were fired early Friday morning.
