Senators Win 5-4 (SO) Over Flyers

It may not have been pretty, but 2 points is 2 points and the Ottawa Senators desperately needed them.

After a back and forth game that saw each team hold the lead several times – Jason Spezza scored the Senators first shootout goal of the season to snap a 5-game home losing streak for Ottawa.  Clarke MacArthur tallied twice, while Patrick Wiercioch, & Kyle Turris added the others.  Craig Anderson made 25 saves, but none bigger than a sprawling toe and full body save late in the third to preserve the tie.

Ottawa now heads on the road for a clash with the Buffalo Sabres, a team which the Senators should handily defeat.  Of course, we all know that doesn’t mean a thing this season.
