Senators Lose 5-2 to Kings

It only took 4:18 to lose this game.

Just 21 seconds into the first period, Craig Anderson allowed a shot from Dwight King to bounce off his shoulder and into the net to open the scoring.  Under 4 minutes later, Jeff Carter’s shot somehow found its way by the Senators goaltender yet again and the Kings, who had already won 5 straight, were in complete control.

That was all she wrote.

It was unfortunate too because the Senators actually played a decent game.  They ended up outshooting the Kings 39-26 and were able to sustain a ton of pressure in the Kings zone throughout the contest.  Ottawa closed it to within 1 before the Kings answered and were able to show that they could play alongside this Western conference beast.

Goaltending, one of the few consistencies this season, was not up to par on this day
