Senators Lose 5-2 to Devils

It didn’t take long for this game to get out of control.

Just 2:02 into the first while on a power-play, Joe Corvo whiffed on a bouncing puck, allowing Adam Henrique & Stephen Gionta to break in on a 2 on 1.  Gionta finished and the Senators were once again behind early to start a contest.

New Jersey never looked back.  They increased their lead to 2-0, 3-0, 4-1 and finally 5-2.  It was another crucial loss for the Senators and yet another failure to win back-to-back games.

The news, however, didn’t stop there.  After the game, GM Bryan Murray, the entire coaching staff and every single player met for an 8-minute meeting to air out their concerns.  This loss was bad enough, but the way in which they lost was not acceptable to those higher up.

Coach MacLean called out the leadership group and said the entire roster had “zero” compete level on this evening.  To get the gist of what he was saying and to see how angry he was, click the link.
